I am Andy, dedicated to educating, motivating, and promoting ‘The Real World Subject,’ which encompasses human solutions to matters of faith and politics, the universal meaning of life.
Relating this to our overarching theme, our success with identity is rooted in organized thoughts and actions, realized through education, motivation, and the sharing of one’s purpose. This collaborative approach leads to the success of shaping our identity, emphasizing that humanity is the solution to human problems.
We are honored to have the distinguished speaker, Prof. Ramulu Mamidala, with us today. Let me provide a glimpse into his remarkable journey. In highlighting just a couple of aspects, one can only begin to appreciate the depth of Ramulu Garu’s achievements. Notably, the renowned Abdul Kalam and Prof. Ramulu Garu collaborated on a myriad of projects, extending beyond military applications to address pressing human health issues, including the development of materials for treating fractured legs. Their collaboration was marked by the shared motivation that inspired and fueled them to work together.
Another notable highlight is his contribution to designing and developing manufacturing methods for a diverse array of systems, ranging from the B2 bomber to the Boeing 787.
If we define the greatness of a person by their ability to overcome obstacles on the path where their purpose serves humanity and inspires many, then Prof. Ramulu epitomizes this greatness. His journey begins in a childhood environment rife with obstructions and hurdles.
Born into the Mamidala Somayya family in 1950 in TarimiGoppula village, Warangal district, Prof. Ramulu faced a challenging childhood, surrounded by poverty and societal discouragement. Despite this, he became the first in his family to attend school, navigating through the social welfare system, and his father’s devotion to Shiva.
As Prof. Ramulu grew up in Telangana during a period of social movements, he was influenced by the emergence of new social movements that attracted youth to fight for social justice. Various ideologies surfaced against landlords and atrocities, with communist movements being a major draw for the youth, alongside the voices of Telangana regional and the Congress political party.
Despite facing significant challenges, Prof. Ramulu pursued engineering at OU Engg college with contributions from friends. His student life was marked by the constant presence of social welfare support, Darul-shafa-hostel, experiences of hunger, insults, and the persistent issue of bed bugs.
On a lighter note, Prof. Ramulu found solace in writing and developed into a poet. His poem ‘Nippu ravva,’ dedicated to George Reddy, a student leader at OU, earned accolades from the renowned Sri Sri. Having secured a seat in Automobile Engineering at IIT Delhi, he embarked on a journey filled with challenges that is, how he went to Delhi and how he carried certificates in journey, where was he after reaching Delhi a separate story.
In 1982, Prof. Ramulu came to Washington University with government scholarships to conduct research under Albert C. Kobayashi. Returning to India briefly, he chose to seize opportunities in the US. His extensive accomplishments and awards can be found on Wikipedia. Humble in his success, he attributes it to the many good Samaritans who played pivotal roles in his life. He has a family with three children.
I express thank you to a friend, writer, and journalist Mr. Seetharamulu for providing valuable information. Now, I invite Prof. Ramulu to share his story and purpose, which is a testament to our collective success. The floor is yours, sir.
